ISTD Grade 2

About The Course

Kathak certification course offered by the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance, London, UK. After completing the Method Book 2 syllabus, an additional 3-4 months of classes will prepare your child to appear for the ISTD Grade 2 exam.
In these additional classes, the student learns new Nritta Hastas from the book 'Ang Kavya' written by Pt. Birju Maharaj, along with new Todas, Chakradar Todas, Chakradar Tihais, Kavitta, and footwork patterns like Bant or Ladi in Taal Teentaal. Your child will also learn to write Teentaal compositions in Bhatkhande Notation System and develop greater body and spatial awareness.
This is the progressive course after your child has taken the ISTD Grade 1 exam and completed Method Book 2.

Prerequisites

• 2+ years of dancing experience
• Completed Prarambhik exam of ABGMM OR completed ISTD Grade 1 exam
• Knowledge of Teentaal repertoire and basic Abhinaya
