About The Course

Kathak certification course offered by the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal (ABGMM). After completing the Method Book 2 course, your child is ready to appear for the second exam, 'Praveshika Pratham,' from ABGMM.
This Beginner-level 2 certification recognizes the student's growing mastery of Kathak and demonstrates their ability to perform a complete basic repertoire with confidence and grace. The exam assesses the command of rhythm techniques, traditional compositions, devotional Abhinaya, and theoretical knowledge.
The teacher will prepare your child thoroughly through live, interactive 1-1 sessions, helping them refine every aspect of their performance and ensuring they're ready to shine in the exam with poise and authenticity. Prerequisites

• 2+ years of dancing experience
• Must have completed Method Book 2 or equivalent Beginner-level training
• Strong foundation in Taal Teentaal repertoire and basic Abhinaya

• All 6 Todas, 2 Chakradar Todas, and 2 Tihais (with mastery and precision)
• Rangmanch Pranaam (Salaami) in Teentaal
• Paran in Taal Teentaal
• Tatkar (footwork patterns)
• Gatnikas
• Abhinaya composition or Shiva Stuti
• Simple Tarana or Sargam
• Asamyukta Hasta Mudras and their Viniyoga (applications)
• Kathak theory and fundamental concepts
